I grew up on coastal British Columbia and even in my youth, have never taken for granted the beauty and wonderous diversity of our ocean.
As a boater and scuba diver I have gained a deep appreciation for what lay above and below the oceans surface. I spent ten years as a marine animal trainer with a now closed oceanarium. Since that time I have become an advocate for our marine environment and its inhabitants; especially cetaceans.
I am a cast member in the award winning documentary, "Blackfish" and a strong proponent for an end to captivity for all cetaceans through an end to breeding programs and rehabilitation to the wild for those animals assessed as suitable for re-introduction to their natural habitat.
However, if we do not protect and preserve of oceans, there will be scant few natural habitats to return them to.
I look forward to being a CMEPS member and adding my voice and energy to its mission.
